Imperial Knights faction overview

Imperial Knights are noble households fielding god-engines — single-pilot war engines bridging the gap between vehicles and Titans. The range covers Questoris (Errant, Paladin, Crusader, Warden), Dominus (Castellan, Valiant), Armiger (Helverin, Warglaive) and the Forge World Cerastus class.

Buying advice for second-hand collectors

Knight kits are stable but expensive new — the second-hand market is your friend. Watch for OOP Forge World Cerastus Knights (Lancer, Atrapos, Castigator) and original Imperial Knight Paladin/Errant from 2014. Magnetisation is highly recommended for the multi-build Questoris kit.

Collecting & army-building advice

Household heraldry is the scheme — Taranis red, House Terryn blue, House Hawkshroud yellow, House Cadmus green, or design your own. Most Knight armies field 3 Knights at 2,000 points or 5 Knights at 3,000 points; freeblade and mixed Houses are popular narrative builds.

Frequently asked questions

How many Knights fit in 2,000 points?
Three Knights, typically: one Dominus, one Questoris, and either an Armiger pair or another Questoris. Five-Knight lists need 3,000+ points.
Are Armigers required to play Knights?
No, but they're efficient — many lists pair a Castellan or Valiant with 2–6 Armigers for action economy.
Are old Cerastus Knights still legal?
Yes — the Forge World Cerastus range remains legal in matched play. Supply is thinning since Forge World retired several SKUs.
