Necromunda overview

Necromunda is Games Workshop's underhive gang skirmish game, set in the same setting as 40K but at street-fight scale. Players run 6–12 ganger warbands from the great Clan Houses (Escher, Goliath, Orlock, Van Saar, Delaque, Cawdor), Enforcers, Ash Wastes Nomads or Outcasts.

Buying advice for second-hand collectors

Necromunda gangs are small, so completeness matters: missing weapon sprues or specialist single-models can break a gang's playability. House cards and gang tactics cards are sometimes sold separately — confirm what's included. Forge World resin (older characters, vehicles) needs careful inspection.

Collecting & army-building advice

One gang = one box plus a few singles for specialists. Veterans paint each ganger as a unique character rather than batch-painting. Terrain (Zone Mortalis, Sector Mechanicus, Ash Wastes) is half the experience — second-hand terrain bundles are extremely cost-effective.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need terrain to play Necromunda?
Yes — Necromunda is built around dense 3D terrain. Zone Mortalis tiles, scratch-built bulkheads, or Sector Mechanicus all work. Many players buy terrain second-hand to keep costs down.
Can I use 40K models in Necromunda?
Some — Genestealer Cult and Ork models proxy well as Outcasts or specific gang archetypes. Official House gangs use bespoke kits not found in 40K.
Are old metal Necromunda gangers (1995) still playable?
Yes, with current House lists you can run vintage Escher and Goliath metals. Bring your own profile sheet for unique weapon loadouts.
